Calvary Tabernacle celebrates Easter
Calvary Tabernacle in Quincy had a great Easter Sunday morning celebration this year. We had 125 (?) present in our morning worship service, including 40 (?) kids in Children’s Church. (Someone correct me if I have my figures wrong.)
Our pastor, Randy Pate, preached about being “Afar Off” (Luke 22:54), and we had a great response. There were people praying in the altar that morning who had never responded before, which was awesome.
After service, everyone headed outside for the annual “Candy Rain.” Chris Burgtorf, Nick Dugal and Dick Jackson climbed up on the roof of the church and threw boxes of candy onto a mob of excited children, who then scurried all over the grounds stuffing brown paper sacks with their favorite goodies. It’s a lot of fun to watch, but you might lose a hand if you get between a kid and candy.
Oh, and thank you, gentlemen, for tossing a package of Sixlets my way. Eating Sixlets on the way home from church has become a tradition for me.
Next year will be exciting because Nolan will be big enough to participate. It’ll be exciting to help him find as much candy as possible. I just hope he doesn’t mind when I steal all his Sixlets.
I’ve included a few photos from the day in the right sidebar. Hope you enjoy.

Praise the Lord! I’m glad to hear the youth are getting the Holy Ghost, so who was the one from Quincy?
Congratulations on getting a hopeful buyer for the house. I know that has been a huge stressor for you guys as you journey back to Quincy. I know this is not the economic climate to be trying to sell a home, but I also know a Faithful God! He can do anything, except fail.
