The Mohrs are now on-site in Quincy
The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. Last Saturday, Tollie,Nolan and I moved everything we owned from Macomb down to our new home in Quincy. You never realize how much stuff you have until you decide to move, and trust me, we’ve got a lot of stuff.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Tollie and I made the long trek back to Macomb for work. Tollie was finishing her last three days at the bank where she worked, so I tagged along and worked out of Genesis Image Builder’s main offices. At roughly 60 miles one way, Tollie and I logged a cool 360 miles of driving time during those three days.
All I can say is thank God we don’t have to do that every day!
On Thursday, I clocked a little more windshield time by making the 180 mile round trip to Havana, Ill., to visit one of my clients. Needless to say, there’s not a corner of western or central Illinois that I haven’t seen firsthand.

Thursday night was Bible Study at Calvary Tabernacle, followed by a business meeting to discuss details of our impending move to a new facility. I arrived home exhausted at around 9:30 p.m., but at least I didn’t have to drive all the way Macomb.
On Friday I worked from home, which was awesome, to say the least. And because I worked extra hours earlier in the week, I was able to call it quits at a quarter after one, giving me time to tackle a few projects around the house. Tollie had been off work on both Thursday and Friday, so she was able to spend time restoring some semblance of order to the chaos created by our move.
That evening we fired up the grill to cook some steaks, only to find out the grill wasn’t working properly. That meant the t-bones and rib-eyes went in the broiler, while the shrimp cooked on the stove top. (I certainly can’t say I haven’t been eating good since I moved here.) Some of Tollie’s family came over to help us with the cleaning, straightening and minor remodeling and repairs that needed to be done to our new home, and I was very thankful for the help.
I’d also like to thank the following individuals for helping us make the repairs to our Macomb home that were stipulated as part of the sale, and with our move: Kenneth Pate, Connie Deming, Mike and Sheryl Mohr, Nick and Tod Dugal, and Heather and Nathan Fuqua.
Special thanks to Dick Jackson for not only helping us move, but also for bringing doughnuts, orange juice and chocolate milk, and to Rob Bailey for loaning us his diesel-powered box truck complete with hydraulic lift. My back was especially thankful for Rob’s generosity.
