The story of the 4 lepers keeps reminding me that it is when one moves to solve his problem is when God will also move to give a helping hand. For instance it was at twilight that the lepers moved and it was at twilight that God caused the Assyrian army to hear the noise of war..

These story of four lepers reminds me how Esau was told by his father after he had spoken out all blessing to his 2nd son Jacob instead of first born Esau, and when Esau saw what had happened he insisted his father to bless him but his father told him that he has no any other blessing and he will server his brother as he had spoken until when he will become restles and break the yoke of his brother Jacob on his neck and all those blessings will come upon him.

Thanks for the encourageing words....been working on a new chorus and a old timey from the past hoping to do it this Sunday...it goes with what your saying...we need to hear His voice and we need to shut stuff off to hear His Voice.....thanks

He Still Speaks

CHORUS:
He still speaks. I know His voice
Sweeter sound never heard by mortal ears.
And to think that God by His own choice
Would speak to me it makes me rejoice.
He still speaks. I know his voice.

He Whispers Sweet Peace To Me

Verse One:

Sometime when misgivings darken the day.....
And faith's light I cannot see....
I ask my dear Lord...to brighten the way........
He whispers sweet peace to me.....

The Chorus:

He whispers sweet peace to me.....[to me]
He whispers sweet peace to me.....[to me]
When I am cast down....in spirit and soul....
He whispers....sweet peace to me.....

Verse Two:

I could not go one without him...I know.....
The world would 'ore whelm my soul.....
For I could not see...the right way to go....
When temptations o're me roll....

Verse Three:

I trust Him through faith...by faith hold His hand....
And sometimes my faith is weak.....
And then when I ask Him to take command.....
It seems that I hear him speak.....

Verse Four:

He speaks in a still...small voice we are told....
A voice that dispels all fear....
And when I'm in doubt....or troubled in soul....
That still small voice....I can hear.....

The Chorus:

He whispers sweet peace to me.....[to me]
He whispers sweet peace to me.....[to me]
When I am cast down....in spirit and soul....
He whispers....sweet peace to me.....

Great article. This is something that Christians know, yet forget sometimes. God speaks in many ways, and we need to be listening all the time so that we don't miss what he has to say to us.
I think many people have similar feelings in the fact that they been inwardly focused lately due to unforseen circumstances in their own lives. It's time to change that!
Thanks for this reminder.

"So instead of vowing that, from this point forward, you’ll eat nothing but dandelions plucked from your front lawn, try a more sensible approach: make one small change in your diet at a time."

COOL! Thanks for the props!!!! :D

Right now I am trusting in God's Sovereign provision because I have exhausted all of my hoarded resources. there is no way out but God's way that is why I meditate on the story of the 4 lepers because they came to a decision after everything looks negative they made a move towards death or wealth.

I don't want to just sit in my dead situation forever.

He was a A mighty man of God of which inspire Holiness and Godliness.Gentle character but a fierce enemy of sin and hell.

Stephen,

Thanks for reading! As a matter of fact, I am aware of Daniel Segraves. I'm currently using his book Ancient Wisdom for Today's World as part of my daily devotions. I have not been privileged to hear him teach, but, judging from your comment, he must be outstanding.

Two quick observations: first, while Daniel Segraves might be the best teacher "on planet earth" and a great theologian, I still believe the five men I've listed have touched more lives directly and indirectly than anyone else. Secondly, this post is just my opinion, and it's probably a little biased by the fact that I live in the Midwest. As far as I know, Daniel Segraves has spent the majority of his career on the West Coast. Now that he's in St. Louis, perhaps I'll have a chance to hear him speak in the very near future.

God bless,

Jonathan Mohr
